Clergy & Congregational Coach

What is congregational coaching?

Helping clergy and congregations navigate transitions with faithfulness and curiosity

What is congregational coaching?

These days it can seem like everything is in congregational life is in flux. Church numbers ebb and flow, staff changes follow one after the other, ministries or programs that were once foundational are no longer as vibrant, and conflict simmers at a low boil - until it doesn’t.

Despite these disorienting realities, the church is called and gifted to live Christ’s love in a world desperate for it. But how? Well, sometimes a congregation needs an outsider to structure conversations and ask questions that help church members claim their strengths, shift their thinking, and respond to God’s invitations. That is what I offer as a congregational coach.

I approach coaching with the conviction that congregations are experts about their own gifts and contexts, and I tailor my approach to each church’s procedures and goals. I have a particular interest in working with congregations averaging under 350 people in worship.
